Why I Ride And Who I Ride For…
Thank you for visiting my Tour de Rock page. I am very honoured to be able to participate in this years 20th anniversary of Tour de Rock! Several years ago before I was ever a mountie I was able to help out with Tour de Rock while in Port Hardy. I watched and helped one of my friends who was doing the tour, by doing a few bike rides with her, helping out with fundraising when I could and helped out with the Fire Department bringing the riders into town a few years in a row. I knew that someday I wanted to be involved in the tour myself as it was such a great cause and here I am today.
I don’t think there is anyone who has not been effected by cancer in some shape or form and knowing that kids and their families have to go through this is a horrible thought, but unfortunately a reality for far too many families. For every $1500 raised one child gets to go to camp Goodtimes, a camp where they get the medical attention they need and can just be kids for awhile.
I’m not going to lie, fundraising has never been my thing, but this is different. After hearing many stories from different people I have a new motivation and want to raise as much as possible for these kids and cancer research. Every penny counts!
Thanks for your support!
