Without the support of communities, schools, individuals and businesses, Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock would just be a bike ride. The unified efforts of Vancouver Islanders to support children fighting cancer is the reason Tour de Rock continues to be a successful fundraiser. There is a direct link between increased childhood cancer survival rates and the efforts of the people of Vancouver Island who have embraced this cause.
Fight back by contributing to an upcoming fundraising event or plan something yourself! Launch a personal fundraising page or make a donation to a team. There are so many ways to join the fight!
Plan your own fundraising event
Think barbecue, car wash, mini bicycling tour, or bake sale. You can donate proceeds of a birthday party instead of exchanging gifts or you can sell refreshments at local sporting events. If you don’t want to be a part of a planned event, you can set up your own online fundraising page. Pledge to shave your head if you reach your fundraising goal!
Take part in events scheduled in your community
Many communities are joining the fight by planning local events to support Cops for Cancer. Get involved and bring friends and family to show how your community is fighting back for children with cancer.
Get your school behind Cops for Cancer
Contact classmates over the summer to start planning or involve your school in the fall. Fundraising extends throughout September and October. Fight back by organizing a toonie day; or maybe something exciting like a head shave or crazy hair day. Ask your teacher to help you.
