The Inspiration Behind the Tour de Rock

The Tour de Rock Junior Team is made up of Vancouver Island children who have a history of cancer. Some of these kids are currently undergoing treatment, some are fortunately in remission, while others are the sibling of a child who lost their life to cancer.

Children and families involved in the Junior Team program are an important part of the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. Meeting them is inspiration for the Tour de Rock team members, and their stories are what drives the success of this fundraising event on Vancouver Island. Junior Team members are often guests of honour at Cops for Cancer events leading up to the Tour, and many spend a day on Tour with the team getting to experience firsthand this inspirational event that benefits children like them.

Often Junior Team members share personal stories about their fight against cancer, as well as their experiences with Canadian Cancer Society programs like Camp Goodtimes.

Their courage and presence inspires the Tour de Rock team members, and gives supporters an opportunity to show compassion and support families struggling with cancer.

We are always excited to welcome new Junior Team members into our family. Click here for our Jr Team Application Form [PDF].
