Why I Ride And Who I Ride For…

I am participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.

The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.

I, like many others have felt the touch of cancer in my family. Both my mother and my aunt have battled cancer, and luckily won. My mother was fortunate to have it detected early, but still required major surgery. My aunt was diagnosed with bone cancer and endured major surgeries and chemotherapy.

I still remember both events, and the hopelessness that I felt from being unable to help or influence the outcome. I can only imagine how much more devastating those feelings would be for a family of a child diagnosed with cancer.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to do something directly to help those children and their families impacted by cancer. With your help we can not only help these children survive, but thrive!

Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer.

Thanks for your support!
