The Inspiration Behind the Tour de Rock

The Tour de Rock Honorary team is made up of Vancouver Island kids who have felt the affects of childhood cancer first hand. Some of them are currently undergoing treatment, many are in remission, while others are the sibling of a child who has faced childhood cancer.

Children and families involved in the Honorary Team program are an important part of the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. Meeting them is an inspiration to the Tour de Rock team members, and their stories are what drives the success of this fundraising event on Vancouver Island. Honorary Team members are seen as our guests of honor at Cops for Cancer events leading up to Tour, and many spend a day with the team on Tour getting to experience first hand this inspirational event that benefits people like them.

Often Honorary Team members share personal stories about their experience with childhood cancer, as well as their experience with Canadian Cancer Society support programs like Camp Goodtimes.

Their courage and presence inspires the Tour de Rock team members, and gives supporters an opportunity to show compassion and support families struggling with childhood cancer.

We are always happy to welcome new Honorary Team members into our family. Click here for our Honorary Team Application Form [PDF].
